Geraldine Quinn
BROAD
Agnes Moorehead. Rhonda Burchmore. Vivienne Westwood with a tit out. What happens when your camp glamour heroines feel a bit close to your own sagging jawline? Well, you write your own drag cabaret about how anyone can find their Endora and take on the world.
Geraldine Quinn (‘Spicks & Specks’, ‘Upper Middle Bogan’) returns to Brisbane Comedy Festival with her first Queensland show in over ten years – ‘BROAD’. Whether you want to unlock the Auntie Mame inside you or if (like Quinn) your knees aren’t working anymore – all are welcome in the BROAD church.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Since winning Victoria’s Green Room Award for Best Emerging Cabaret Artiste in 2006, Quinn has continued to draw recognition and plaudits in Australia and New Zealand.
In 2011, she created ‘The Last Gig In Melbourne’, a unique suite of original songs inspired by the local live music scene (reprised in 2012). The same year, ‘You’re the Voice: Songs for the Ordinary by an Anthemaniac’ (Moosehead Award recipient, directed by Casey Bennetto) won the Golden Gibbo Award for Best Local Independent Production in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Quinn has appeared on ABC TV’s ‘Spicks and Specks’, ‘Adam Hills Tonight’, ‘Upper Middle Bogan’, ‘The Weekly’ and ‘Rockwiz’. She was invited to sing at the launch of the David Bowie Is… exhibition in Melbourne in 2015, and with her epic rock covers band Spandex Ballet, Quinn hosted the MICF all-female line-up Upfront Gala from 2014 – 2019, and performed twice as house band for the annual Moosehead Gala. Spandex Ballet was a popular event at Melbourne Int. Comedy Festival’s Festival Club for ten years.
She was Cabaret Panel Chair for the Victorian Green Room Awards 2016-2018, and her singing voice can be heard on the soundtrack to ‘Get Krack!n’, most notably its theme tune. Quinn co-starred with Tony Martin in his and Sarina Rowell’s sit-com ‘Childproof’, which won Best Comedy Podcast in the 2017 Australian Podcast Awards. After 17 years performing in MICF, she bagged her first Most Outstanding Show nomination, and her third Golden Gibbo Award nomination for her 2022 show ‘BROAD’.
