Paintings of Modernia
A raw exhibition with a comedic bent that explores the ineffable mental states of a comedian turned artist. In 2021, during a 5-month bipolar manic episode, Sam created 300 paintings. Since then, he’s continued his practice, won several awards and has been invited to hold solo exhibitions at galleries and institutions, interstate and overseas.
This exhibition is a free companion piece to ticketed performances of Sam’s live show Museum of Modernia.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sam focuses on combining art and comedy in new ways. He’s been a comedian for over a decade, having toured globally. Sam is also active as a visual artist with recent solo exhibitions in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
